Former Giants Pro Bowl LB Antonio Pierce joined NYFBL on the "Fierce Pierce Report" to discuss his career with the Giants, Darrelle Revis' contract and the start of training camp for the Jets and Giants.
Reactions from Giants Training Camp Day 1
Observations on offense
1. Barden is a "GIANT"
2. Nicks is a vacuum. He caught everything and looked great in his routes.
3. Manningham had a few decent catches... but I noticed a major difference between him and Nicks. Nicks goes after the ball and likes to pounce on it with his huge hands. Manningham lets the ball come to him, and he often catches it rather awkwardly. He is good at routes, but doesn't have the best hands.
4. Smith is definitely a fan favorite. You could tell that Eli was looking at him first through all of the reads.
Observations on defense
1. Phillips dressed, but I didn't see him do anything.
2. Tuck seems to be very friendly with Jacobs and Bradshaw. They always were laughing on the sidelines.
3. Bulluck looked pretty good for coming off of surgery.
4. Rolle was fielding punts, along with Moss, and Ross
5. Fewell was VERY intense in practice. You could definitely hear him clear across the field.
