Making the case for the New York Giants to draft Ohio State linebacker James Laurinaitis with the 29th pick
Giants claim backup lineman
Giants were awarded the rights to tackle Andrew Carnahan from the Kansas City Chiefs today.
Tight end Tony Gonzalez's career as a Chief may be over by this weekend.
Tony Gonzalez's name has been linked to the Giants for many months now but things might have taken a turn for the worse. The Philadelphia Eagles are believed to be the leading candidate get him. The Eagles are offering a 3rd Round pick for Gonzalez, while the Chiefs are asking for a 2nd. The Eagles can get a deal done by offering a 3rd round pick plus a conditional 4th next year with incentives to get a higher pick, based on either Gonzalez's performance or the Eagles team performance. If I am the Giants, I swoop right in there and trade the 29th pick in the 2nd round to the Chiefs and call it a day! But unfortunately I do not have a say in these matters. We will just have to wait and see as this develops further.
Browns don't want Crabtree anymore???
Browns met with Michael Crabtree recently and Browns Coach Eric Mangini did NOT get a good first impression of Crabtree. He thought his ego was through the roof and was not a team first player. We will have to wait and see if this is legit or if he is just saying that to help disguise the Browns draft board.
Update on Braylon Edwards trade talks with Giants*****
Giants have still not balked off their initial offer of a 2ndm 5th and Hixon/Manningham for Braylon, while the Browns insist on a 1st and 3rd round pick. If I am the Giants i counter and offer a 1st, 6th and Hixon for Braylon and see if that makes the deal go through. The Giants MUST make a splash on draft day at WR. They have no legit number 1 receiver and as we all saw last year, it cost us the Super Bowl.
