Beyond the Boroughs
Lace up your bowling shoes and head out for a night of bowling with some of your favorite Jets and Giants players, all to benefit Tutan Reyes' Beyond the Boroughs national scholarship fund. Tutan Reyes, an offensive lineman of the Houston Texans, founded Beyond the Boroughs in 2007 to provide college scholarships to students who have been accepted to college but do not have the financial resources to matriculate.
On Monday, October 26th at Lucky Strike Lanes, we will see if the professional athletes we watch on a weekly basis have what it takes to out-bowl us! Some of the confirmed athletes and celebrities participating include:
From the Giants.......Eli Manning, Brandon Jacobs, Justin Tuck Osi Umenyiora, Kevin Boss, Danny Clark, David Diehl, and Jay Alford.
From the Jets...........Kris Jenkins and Marques Douglas of the New York Jets
Other notables.........Maurice Jones-Drew of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Derrick Burgess of the New England Patriots; Drayton Florence of the Buffalo Bills; Mike Peterson of the Atlanta Falcons; as well as Kenny Anderson (former NBA player), Rocsi Diaz (BET), Cedric Jones (former New England Patriot), and Warren Sapp (retired NFL player).
In addition to the opportunity to bowl with some of these and other professional athletes and national celebrities, you will also have the opportunity to share a drink with them as well as get an autograph or participate in the silent auction.
The event is on Monday, October 26th at 7:30 p.m. at Lucky Strike Bowl, 624-660 West 42nd Street. A ticket to bowl with the players is priced at $250 and a ticket for the event with no bowling is priced at $150 (including open bar). If you are unable to attend the event, any donation that you could make - even as small as $1 - would be appreciated. All net proceeds will go directly to the scholarship fund.
