Addendum to Earlier Braylon Edwards Rumor Report

"The Browns have studied Ware's preseason carries compared to (Ryan) Grant's (when he was here) and they think Ware is the better player by a distance. Also think his 2 regular season carries showed the same stuff as the preseason - and Mangini knows this kid is good. He didn't think anyone would nab him (due to the off-the-field concerns and limited exposure) when he stored him on the practice squad."

Latest on Braylon Edwards

WARNING: If you do not like rumors or rumor-mongering, please do not keep reading for your own mental health.  The following was provided to me by a legitimate source:

"The talks are still on. The Browns are being cheap right now and have no interest in re-signing Edwards to a big deal. They are willing to take low compensation. They are asking for a conditional next year (high as a 3) and Danny Ware and Mario Manningham (who Mangini wanted badly for the Jets). They were asking for these same two players before the draft, but the feeling is they can get New York to bite now that they got Nicks and Brown in the draft."

"(I do not) know the status of the Giants response to this offer."

I honestly would DEFINITELY have to pull the trigger on the deal in 2 seconds!  I am the first to say that I LOVE Danny Ware more than any Giants fan on the planet but giving him up to get a top tier Wide Receiver in the NFL, is a no brainer.  Mario Manningham is very raw and still has a lot to learn to make it on the field on a consistent basis and a 3rd round pick is not bad to give up either.  Go for it Jerry!!!  In Reese We Trust!

IS IT 'BRAY' DAY? Though the Giants are denying reports that they are looking to trade for the Browns' Braylon Edwards, they do have a need at wide receiver.

No deal: Giants don't expect to land Edwards

Looks like the Giants will not be getting a new number 1 receiver unless they up their offer drastically.

Browns don't want Crabtree anymore???

Browns met with Michael Crabtree recently and Browns Coach Eric Mangini did NOT get a good first impression of Crabtree. He thought his ego was through the roof and was not a team first player. We will have to wait and see if this is legit or if he is just saying that to help disguise the Browns draft board.

Update on Braylon Edwards trade talks with Giants*****

Giants have still not balked off their initial offer of a 2ndm 5th and Hixon/Manningham for Braylon, while the Browns insist on a 1st and 3rd round pick. If I am the Giants i counter and offer a 1st, 6th and Hixon for Braylon and see if that makes the deal go through. The Giants MUST make a splash on draft day at WR. They have no legit number 1 receiver and as we all saw last year, it cost us the Super Bowl.

Steve Smith, in addition to Justin Tuck and Eli Manning is extremely excited to add a #1 receiver to the Giants.  It looks like most of the current Giants are very welcoming to the possible addition of Braylon Edwards.

Justin Tuck is the latest New York Giant to endorse Cleveland Browns' Braylon Edwards

Justin Tuck first got to know Braylon Edwards during his days at Notre Dame.

Someone Might Trade For Edwards Without A New Contract

There has been a lot of speculation that if a team trades for Braylon Edwards, they might not give him a contract extension. With the possibility of an uncapped year in 2010, Braylon Edwards would become a restricted free agent, meaning the team that traded for him would still have his rights if they wanted. More than likely, he will get an extension if traded because of the problems that he would make if he didn't get an extension but you never know.

Giants' interest in Braylon Edwards and 10 picks mean big pre-Draft week

Giants have the potential to have a HUGE draft. With 10 picks and only 5 open spots on the roster. The Giants will be forced to make a few trades to either move up in a couple of rounds, trade for future draft picks in 2010 or trade for a veteran wide receiver.

Both Braylon Edwards (top) and Anquan Boldin would give Giants the big-time receiver they need to fill the shoes of Plaxico Burress.

Browns Balk at Giants' Three-Pick Offer?

Quote:... I have heard the reports about the Giants offering a higher draft pick if Edwards has 80 or more receptions. From what I understand, the Browns balked at this because obviously this scenario doesn't offer any guarantees. ... The point is if the Browns want optimal value for Edwards, I can't see them agreeing to a conditional pick unless it's a pretty high offer, such as a third that turns into a second if conditions are met."

Giants: Go get Edwards; Jets: Deal for Boldin
