Giants fans have begun to realize the great opportunity they have to be able to watch their team practice over at the Timex Performance Center with attendance high for the second straight day. Fans in attendance were able to see Prince Amukamara in a Giants uniform for the first time, although it was only in very limited action. They also got to see a familiar sight; Osi on the sideline not practicing with him teammates, even with that distraction the defense had a lot of energy tonight and were very talkative. Here are the highlights from tonight’s practice:

One on One’s
·        The offense looked sharp and Eli completed his first four passes. His first pass was a deep back shoulder fade to Manningham over Terrell Thomas. The next was a similar play on the opposite side of the field with Nicks coming down with the catch.
·        Victor Cruz made a spectacular one handed catch on a deep fly
·        Hixon ran a couple nice, crisp routes making both catches easily
·       The main defensive highlight during this period was a pass that was broken up by Kenny Phillips intended for Jake Ballard
During Team Drills:
·         The offense focused on the Two-minute drill; when they lined up on offense, HIxon was the third receiver.
·         Mathias Kiwanuka lined up as the starting strong-side linebacker during team drills.
·         Bradshaw and Jacobs split time with the first team
·         Hixon made a nice catch on a slant from Eli. Hixon had a good practice today after sitting out yesterday due to his knee.
·         Clint Sintim had a nice practice almost making a couple interceptions today. It was good to see him around the ball and active.
·         Aaron Ross had back to back plays with nice coverage forcing incompletions
·         Tyler Sash made an interception on a deep post that was intended for Jernigan.
·         Rookie FB Henry Hynoski caught a swing pass and lowered his shoulder (they were only in helmets). He seems to be a hard-nosed, tough player.
·         Manningham made a nice catch and then made a nice move for what would have been a big gain.
·         Corey Webster made a nice play breaking up a slant to Hakeem Nicks
·         David Baas snapped a ball over Eli’s head when he was in shotgun formation
·         Nicks dropped a pass and Beckum made a great effort to come down with a pass over Boley. It was tough to tell whether it was a catch and down by contact, or an incompletion.
·         The highlight of the day was when rookie linebacker Mark Herzlich intercepted a tipped pass and would have returned it for a touchdown if it were a game.

7 on 7’s
·         Prince Amukamara got in for the first time, he had decent coverage and the pass was high and incomplete.
·         The defense looked sharp and forced the QB’s to throw a lot of check-down passes to the running backs.
·         Terrell Thomas also made a very nice play breaking up a pass intended for Travis Beckum. Beckum had a nice practice coming down with a couple grabs during the two-minute drill.

The practice ended with a deep pass from Manning to Darius Reynaud for a touchdown.
There seemed to be some tension from the fans today towards Osi. Many fans voiced their opinions about his contract situation and his “soar knee”. The Giants have practice once again tomorrow at 6 pm. After the game the running backs will be signing autographs so any Ahmad or Jacobs fans make sure you find your way down to the Timex Performance Center and watch the team practice.
