Eli Manning Or Philip Rivers: Did the Giants End Up With the Right Quarterback?

  1. My opinion looking back on tht trade between the giants/chargers for Eli/Rivers is one that needs to be discussed. Eli has the pedigre to be an amazing QB with a bright future but I just don't think he has the moxy to reach greatness. Yea he won SB XLII, but it seems like he's Gone backwards, rather then fowards. Feels like his play now is exactly like it was when he first came in the NFL. His brother seems to have grown and gotten better each year since winning his first SB and is reguarded as the best QB right now. Eli constantly overthrows his WR's as if there all were as tall as Plaxico! Gets rattled when in trouble and just throws the ball up in the air hoping that 1 of his WR's comes down with the ball. Which proves my statement above. He was great in the SB but since, not even close.

Now onto Plilip Rivers. The guy has a funny and unusual delivery when throwing the ball, but the guy is accurate however he throws the ball. Constantly throws for better numbers, more passing yards, more TD's to Intercetion ration, and better completion % then Eli year after year. But the only thing he doesn't have that Eli does is the ring. But what would of happened if the giants kept Rivers. How many rings would he have compared to Eli in SD?

I believe the giants should have kept Rivers over Eli looking back on it now. Comparing strictly just #'s since they both came into the league. I am a giants fan, but I have to tell it like i see it.
