Quick observations from the Antonio Pierce aftermath, looking down the road to the 2010 NFL Draft

With the HUGE loss of Antonio Pierce for the rest of the season and possibly being done for his career, I decided to give fans an early look into how I would love to see the 1st two rounds of the 2010 NFL Draft play out.  If Pierce is done with the Giants, then they will have no choice but to draft a linebacker in the 1st round of the 2010 draft.  The top two choices in my opinion are Rolando McClain, MLB from Alabama and Brandon Spikes, MLB from Florida.  Both players are absolutely phenomenal and would start right away for the Giants.

Now in the 2nd Round of the 2010 NFL Draft I am looking for the Giants to draft the best Safety on the board.  With the loss of Kenny Phillips this season, everyone is seeing a HUGE glaring hole at the safety position and Michael Johnson, CC Brown, Aaron Rouse are NOT the answer.  I am looking at a guy that most people have probably forgotten about because he graduated last season and was away all year in Oxford after accepting one of the most prestigious honors, the 2009 Rhodes Scholarship.  Myron Rolle, Safety from Florida State University.

Not only this Myron extremely intelligent, he is one hell of a football player.  The combination of Kenny Phillips and Myron Rolle could have the potential to be a LIGHTS OUT combination!!! Obviously we are very early in the game right now, especially since the Giants are still in the playoff hunt, but I always like looking towards the future, and a combination of one of those two linebackers and Myron Rolle is one unbelievable future to look forward to.  Here's hoping....
